Where can you find a local fireplace installer and fuel supplier?
Fireplaces Are Us now offer installation surveys to help you get your new fireplace or fire installed. We work with UKIAM (UK Installation & Maintenance), who have an extensive network of HETAS and Gas Safe qualified fitters throughout the UK. UKIAM engineers can fit stoves, fireplaces, fires and flue systems, and during your initial site visit they will advise you about what products are suitable for your home. All UKIAM surveyors are fully trained and registered with the relevant governing and inspection body, as well as having experience installing a wide variety of branded fires and fireplaces.
HETAS is the official body recognised by government to Approve solid fuel domestic heating appliances, fuels and services. Its work in Approving products covers boilers, cookers, open fires and stoves and room-heaters. HETAS collaborates with the National Association of Chimney Sweeps (NACS) (http://www.chimneyworks.co.uk/) in supervising a solid fuel orientated course for chimney sweeps which results in successful candidates being "HETAS Approved". In association with the Solid Fuel Association (SFA), (http://www.solidfuel.co.uk/frame/800index.html) HETAS operates a registration scheme for heating engineers with special skills in the installation and maintenance of solid fuel heating systems.

The Gas Safe Register is the national watchdog for gas saftey in the UK it exists to protect you, your family, and your property from dangerous gas work. Incorrectly fitted, badly repaired or poorly maintained gas appliances are a major cause of lethal carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning, and can also lead to gas leaks and explosions. To carry out work on gas installations and appliances safely and legally, engineers in Great Britain and the Isle of Man must be on the Gas Safe Register. We make sure the 120,000 engineers on the register are safe by inspecting the gas work they have carried out.
Oftec is the oil firing technical association for the petroleum industry, the installation of an oil fired appliance should be carried out by an oftec registered engineer. The Oil Firing Technical Association (OFTEC) was launched in April 1991 to construct a framework within which oil firing in the United Kingdom and Republic Of Ireland could operate with a greater degree of technical expertise and efficiency. All Oftec installers are able to certify their own work so there is no need to notify local authority building control when installing an oil fired appliance.
NACS is the National Association of Chimney Sweeps and are specialists in providing professional chimney sweeping as well as technical expertise for the safe operation and maintenance of chimney appliances and the installation of flue systems, stainless steel flexible liners and flue terminations. Before you purchase a new appliance that will be using a existing chimney or flue we recommend you get a registered chimney sweep to inspect it.
